Patricia Lee Obrecht Back – 55 – North Judson, Indiana June 16, 1969 – August 15, 2024 Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Caring Loving Nurse are the best descriptions of Patricia (Patty) Lee Obrecht Back. Born in Knox, Indiana on June 16, 1969 to the late Paul Obrecht and Sharon (King) Obrecht of Knox, Indiana, Patty graduated from Knox High School then earned her degree in Health Care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2003 from Central Florida Community College. Patty also graduated from Ancilla College with her Registered Nurse Degree (RN) on May 19, 2019. She worked actively in both Florida and Indiana as a nurse for 20+ years. Patty Back is survived by her husband of 27 years, Randell Back of North Judson, Indiana. Patty and Randy were married on March 25, 1997 and enjoyed life together both in Florida and in Indiana. Patty had one son Ryan Obrecht that preceded her in death. Surviving children include step son Sherman Back (Jennifer) of Lebanon, Tennessee; daughter Erica Marie Bailey of Knox, Indiana; Austin Michael Dale Bailey (Esme’ Alejandra) of North Judson, Indiana and minor child Braxton Ryan Back of North Judson, Indiana. In addition, Patty had 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Also surviving are siblings Paula Krause, Diane Maryans and Robert Obrecht. Patty had a huge positive impact where ever she worked, played or spent time with family. Nursing friends such as Patti Johnson wrote fitting tributes to Patty on social media. Patti Johnson said, “Patty will forever be the brightest star in the sky, always putting others before herself. She was truly the ‘best of the best’, a nurse whose laughter and smile will be deeply missed by all. Her patients were fortunate to have her as she had a unique way of making them smile, no matter the circumstance. She touched countless lives with her compassion and care.” The Northwest Indiana Nursing Honor Guard will be a big part of the service and will share the story of the “Nightengale Lamp” which fits the life that Patty led both in her professional and personal life. She was passionate at everything she did in life and always took care of others before herself. Visitation for Patricia Lee Obrecht Back will be held at O’Donnell Funeral Home located at 302 Lane Street, North Judson, Indiana 46366 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The funeral service will start at 12:00 PM CST with burial services at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana immediately following the service.
