Doris M Wroblewski

Doris May (Okeley) Wroblewski was born on February 1st, 1943, along with a twin sister. She was born in Aldene, IN to Earl & Irene (Thews) Okeley. Doris passed away at age 77 on August 15, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Knox, IN. Doris had 11 siblings. There were 6 boys & 6 girls. Kenneth Leroy (Kenny), Elsie Lucille (Sis), Leslie Raymond (Bud), Louise Irene (Dolly), William Earl (Bill), Robert Louis (Bob), Charles Edward (Charlie), Lila Jean, Alice Fay (Twin of Doris), Joyce Ann, & Donald Richard (Donnie). Doris had several children. Michelle, Chuck, Robert, Terry, Jerry, Donnie.. She attended North Judson schools, married & moved to Chicago. Doris moved back to Indiana later on to be closer to her family. She resided in the towns of Bass Lake, LaPorte, & Knox. Doris was always singing as she grew up, liked to always be doing something, and loved walking endlessly in her younger days. She was definitely the “knick knack lady” as she had many. They had their own special place, but there was never a speck of dust on them in her clean and tidy home!! Sonic the Hedgehog was her favorite cartoon. Doris always looked pretty with her hair done up, mini skirt and gogo boots on! Doris spent many of her later years at the LaPorte County Home, and Golden Living Centers in LaPorte and Knox. She made many friends at her residences including her caregivers. She loved singing with the church when they came. She made many “fuzzy picture” posters that everyone wanted for their door or wall too! Doris loved going outside to sit with nature, and to family homes for outings & holidays. Doris loved visitors and to talk. The conversations were never boring even though she didn’t let you know too much about herself. She did however let you know what she did or did not like! Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kenny, Leslie, Bill, & Bob, sisters Elsie & Dolly, & infant son Donnie. Doris is survived by twin sister Alice (Herb) Miller, Lila (Calvin) Rudd, Joyce Bailey, Charlie (Orpha) Okeley, Donnie (Cathy) Okeley, Children & grandchildren. Visitation- Friday August 21, 2020, O’Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson 11am - 1 pm Relatives & Friends Funeral Service at 1 pm Cremation to follow In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses appreciated.
