Carol E Davis

Carol Eva (Roseman) Davis, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Surprise, Arizona on March 4, 2026, following a brief illness. She was cared for by her children and family members during a short time in home hospice care. Carol was born on April 28, 1934, in North Judson, Indiana, to Hugo Otto and Jane Eva (Marks) Roseman. She was Jane’s first child and Carol joined her half-brothers, Dale and Ralph Roseman. A few years later her sister Harriet was born. She graduated from North Judson High School in 1952. She married USAF Lt. Robert “Bob” Davis of North Judson on September 5, 1954. Until the summer of 1956 they lived on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, while Bob finished his service as an Air Force pilot. Carol filled her life with their five children and their activities. She wrote about Little League baseball games for the local newspaper in Harvey, Illinois. She volunteered with the local grade school PTA and at the First United Methodist Church. Since more made it merrier, they hosted foreign exchange students from Germany, Japan, France, Mexico and Finland. These foreign students and their families remained a part of her life. Carol was a die-hard Chicago Cubs baseball fan and was thrilled to finally have her favorite team win the World Series in 2016. She enjoyed vacation travel around the U.S. and the world. She skied in the mountains of Utah and Colorado, and in France, Italy and Austria. Over the years, Carol helped plan her high school class reunions in North Judson, organizing their 73rd reunion in 2025. She lived in Markham, Harvey and Crystal Lake Illinois and after Bob’s retirement they moved to Surprise Arizona. Later in life, her interests turned to family genealogy, following one line back to the Revolutionary War, where an ancestor served in the Continental Army. She was the family photographer and historian and always kept in touch with every corner of our extended family and her friends. She attended every birthday, graduation, and special event for family and friends that she could. No visit ended without photographs and the first goodbye never had a chance. She was very much the glue that held us together and we can never thank her enough for her constant efforts. Carol is survived by her five children Craig (Ellen Le Vita), Eva, Suzanne (Dan) Johnson, Robert W, and Lawrence (Cheryl), her six grandchildren Kari, Jennifer, Kyle, Hailey, Sarah and Elliott, and her sister Harriet (Butch) Lippelt. Surviving also are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Davis (2014), her parents Hugo and Jane Roseman, and half-brothers Dale and Ralph Roseman. Visitation will be 10 AM CT Saturday, March 14, 2026 followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon CT at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson, Indiana. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers we encourage you to donate to cancer research, Alzheimer’s research, a Christian non-profit organization, or a non-profit of your choice.
