Norene Griffo

Norene E. Griffo, 89, Knox, passed away on November 22, 2021 at her Grandson’s residence in Knox, Indiana. Norene was born Norene E. Budka in North Judson, Indiana on December 3, 1931 to John and Ella Budka. Norene married Thomas Griffo on June 26, 1954 at the Methodist Church in North Judson, Indiana. Norene enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and raised her two children, Linda and David, on the family homestead while also enjoying mushroom hunting and long walks through the woods. While her health allowed, Norene also enjoyed an active social life, often playing bunko and other card games with friends when not visiting with them in the mornings for coffee. Norene also enjoyed submitting items every year at the 4H Fair Open Class and had success in many areas, including quilting. Norene is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Budka, husband Thomas Griffo, and son David Griffo. Norene is survived by her Grandson, Deric T. Griffo of Knox, who Norene lived with in her final years. Norene is also survived by her daughter, Linda Couts (Mark) of Culver and her Granddaughters, Rachel Arndt (Jonathan) of Rochester and Allison Boyne (James) of Argos. Visitation for Norene will be held at the O’Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following. Burial will be in the Bass Lake Cemetery.
