Paul E Grubbs

Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Big Heart are the best descriptions of Paul Edwin Grubbs. Born in Knox, Indiana on March 18, 1953 to the late Jesse Dean Grubbs and Ralpha (Waymire) Grubbs. He attended North Judson High School, Class of 1971 and spent his career in various industries in metals and chemicals. Paul passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025 in Knox, Indiana with his wife of 14 years, Carol L. Grubbs at his side. Paul and Carol were best friends since junior high school and went their own directions in life for several years. They reconnected in 2010 and were married on August 23, 2011. Quick witted, engaging, laughing, intelligent and avid reader is how all of his family and friends will remember Paul. He was always smiling; while caring deeply for his family and friends to make sure they were all taken care of and had what they needed. Paul loved to sing and enjoyed music of all kinds when he had a chance to relax. Paul Grubbs is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Sara Preston, (Husband Daniel) of Minnesota, Son Evan Grubbs of Texas, Son Bryan Whittinghill, (Wife Lauren) of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Sibling Betty Jo Copeland, (Husband Mark), Grandchildren Raven, Wren & Daniel Preston; Zechariah, Elena, Sofia, Bret, Isabel and Maxine Whittinghill and several nieces and nephews. Paul spent 33 years at Aero Metals where they made various auto parts. He would always love to point out various parts of a vehicle where he may have had a part in making it. He was very humble in his work and was known as a very loyal employee. Paul retired from Aero Metals in 2012 after suffering a back injury at work. He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandkids where he would read to them, play games and kept them laughing with him. Rarely did you ever see Paul without his “famous” smile. He was an avid movie buff and retained a lot of knowledge about little known actors, movie settings and trivia where he entertained the whole family. His love of music was unique. He loved to listen to his son Evan Grubbs sing and play anything from Ozzy Osbourne to Kermit the Frog “Rainbow Connection.” Carol would catch him in the kitchen singing along with music but rarely ever let the rest of the family hear him sing! Visitation for Paul E. Grubbs will be held at Heartland Christian Center located at 301 North Main Street, North Judson, Indiana from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM CST on Monday, December 22, 2025. A “Celebration of Life” service will begin at 3:00 PM CST followed by a meal for family and friends at Heartland Christian Center immediately after all services have concluded. Cremation services are being handled by O’Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana.
