Harry William Lemke

Harry William Lemke, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was 77 years old. Harry was a lifelong resident of North Judson, Indiana. Harry was born April 22, 1945 to the late Harry R. Lemke Sr. and Margaret (Heidel) Lemke. He graduated from North Judson High School in 1964. He married Dana Miracle on June 18, 1966. Harry was truly one of a kind. He always had a positive disposition and never met a stranger. Wherever he would go, he left with a new friend. Harry gave the best hugs, if you ever experienced a Harry Hug you know the power it held. Harry worked in construction, for the town and proudly worked at and retired from the Ford Stamping plant in Chicago Heights, IL. He graciously volunteered for the North Judson Fire Department for over 20 years. After his retirement he found joy in volunteering at St. Peters Lutheran School for numerous years. Harry and Dana have a dear friend group, referred to as “the couples”. They have uniquely lived in the same area for most of their lives. They raised their families together and provided a strong support system for one another. Harry is survived by his wife Dana (Miracle) Lemke, sons Robert (Jen) Lemke of Portage, IN and Michael (Jeri) Lemke of Hickory, NC; close nephew Wesley (Sarah) Hale. Granddaughters Rose Lemke of Portage, IN and Tali Lemke of Hickory, NC, Mother-in-law Mildred Hale of Winamac, IN, Brother-in-law Charlie (Barb) Hale of Winamac, IN, cousins, nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Phyllis) Lemke and father-in-law James “Cotton” Hale and brother-in-law James Hale. Harry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the family and friends that have offered their support and love. You have made a huge difference in our lives, and we truly appreciate you. Visitation will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 10:00-12:00 with funeral services at 12:00 Noon at the church. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, North Judson, Indiana. The family would like to extend an invitation to a luncheon at St. Peter’s Lutheran School Cafetorium following the interment.
