Dorothy Trent

Dorothy Ann (Schadek) Trent went home to be with her Lord on August 15th 2019 in Winamac, Indiana. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Dorsie Beach Trent; parents Rev. Carl and Elsa (Vollbrecht) Schadek; brother David Schadek; daughters Sherrie Trent, Dianne Trent, and Deborah Trent Caudill; son Karl Anthony “Tony” Trent; and son-in-law Joseph Morrison. Dorothy is greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Glory (Don) Koch of North Judson, IN; daughter Laurie Morrison Fetrow of Warsaw, IN; son Kyle (Jamie) Trent of Lacrosse, IN; daughter-in-law Cindy Trent of Fulton, IN; grandchildren Alyssa and Victoria Morrison, Nikkole and Christopher Caudill, Austin, Kolt, Chase, Olivia, and Dawson Trent, Maddox and Payten McDermott, and CJ; and great-grandson Keaton Morrison. Dorothy Ann Schadek was born in Sublett, Kentucky on February 20th, 1937 to the Reverend Carl Schadek and Elsa (Vollbrecht) Schadek. Dorothy met and fell in love with Dorsie “Beach” Trent in Starke County Indiana, marrying him on September 24th, 1955 in San Pierre. Dorothy and Beach built a life together in North Judson, going on to have six children, nine grandchildren, and a great grandson. Dorothy was a devout Christian, believing that through hard work, love, and prayer, you could accomplish anything. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, taking care of everyone she came in contact with. You would never leave her home hungry or without a hug. She loved to cook, garden, read scripture, listen to gospel music, and most of all, spend time with her family. Dorothy continued her service and love for others in her years as a nursing assistant at Little Company of Mary. She is sorely missed by her family and friends, however, through our grief, we rejoice in knowing she is not only with Jesus, but reunited with our departed loved ones. One of Dorothy’s favorite scriptures was Psalm 121:1-2: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Friends may call from 2-6 PM CT, Sunday August 18, 2019 at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson, Indiana Funeral Services will be 11 AM CT Monday August 19, 2019 at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
